About Me.

Ayham Allouch (He/They, born 1995, Damascus, Syria) is a Berlin-based Sound and multidisciplinary artist. His artistic practice spans sound installations, 3D video collaborations, experimental art documentaries, and live performances. Deeply influenced by his political background, experiences of displacement, and immigration, he intertwines oral ancestral knowledge, traditional musical fragments and technology in his work, striving to craft complex narratives that resonate on multiple levels.

Ayham’s work is characterized by the innovative use of field recordings to create intricate sound textures alongside the exploration of deconstruction to produce generative experimental music and visual formulas.
His recent research focuses on the vocal heritage of the Levant, particularly the sonic resistance movements, vocal resistance, and the intersectional musical identity within the region. The project "Al-ahazij" delves into these themes, exploring how they transcend the political and geographical borders imposed by colonial powers.

Ayham began their artistic journey at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Damascus and has recently completed their studies in Electronic Music Production and Performance at the Catalyst Institute for Creative Arts and Technology in Berlin. Their works have been featured in prominent venues such as Savvy Contemporary, CTM
